Demonstrating Positive Impact on Leadership at All Levels

MSS teacher leaders develop a deep familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards and make plans to stay in the teaching profession more than their colleagues. Through leadership professional learning, they are able to support other teachers and advocate for increased science support at their sites.

As part of a 5-year Investing in Innovation grant, MSS developed a cadre of Teacher Leaders who participated in professional learning designed to deepen their understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), collaborate and strategize around NGSS implementation challenges, learn to facilitate professional learning, and develop their own leadership skills.
